Louis Rembges

OVERVIEW

Winner of the BOLD Playwriting Prize 2023 and an alumni of the Royal Court's Intro to Playwriting Group, Louis is a London-based, Sheffield-born writer and performer. Last summer his tour-de-force one-man show CHATHAM HOUSE RULES completed a critically acclaimed, OFFIE-nominated run at the Edinburgh Fringe, and transferred to Pleasance London in autumn as part of their Best of Edinburgh season.

Louis is now adapting CHATHAM HOUSE RULES as a feature with Killer Films (PAST LIVES, MAY DECEMBER) and Harris Dickinson's Devisio Pictures producing, and Film4 financing. For TV, Louis is developing queer superhero drama ANGEL with Devisio Pictures.

Louis’ other plays include ON RAILTON ROAD, which completed a sell-out, OFFIE-nominated run at London's Museum of the Home in November last year. An epic 2 hour ensemble production developed with Jerwood Arts & Arts Council England, it tells the story of a queer activist community in Brixton in the 1970s who fought for a place to call home. Louis' most recent play ROCK DJ AND THREE OTHER SONGS THAT SAVED THE WORLD ran at New Diorama Theatre in June, in which, one year on from the apocalypse, a Robbie Williams cult survives locked inside the Barnsley Metrodome.

He is a member of BAFTA Connect.
